New Delhi: Chirag Paswan, leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), was sworn in as a minister in the NDA government on Sunday. This move comes after Chirag's stunning victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where his party secured all five contested seats, marking a remarkable comeback.

In the 2019 elections, under the leadership of Ram Vilas Paswan, the party clinched all six allotted seats. However, the political landscape shifted dramatically in June 2021 when Chirag's uncle, Pashupati Kumar Paras, orchestrated a midnight coup, sidelining Chirag and claiming a position in Modi's cabinet.

Despite these challenges, Chirag Paswan's political journey took a surprising turn in the 2024 polls when the BJP, recognizing his resilience and grassroots support, entrusted him with five crucial seats under their alliance agreement. This move sidelined the Paras faction, despite its backing from four MPs.

Chirag's victory in Hajipur, Vaishali, Samastipur, Khagaria, and Jamui stands, achieved without the guidance of his father means a lot to the NDA government. He has pledged to fulfill his father's vision and champion the 'Bihar first, Bihari first' agenda, aiming to usher in transformative change for the state.

Defying predictions of his political demise, Chirag Paswan silenced his critics and solidified his leadership within the LJP (Ram Vilas).
