Cachar: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said that two individuals had been arrested in Cachar district for possessing drugs valued at Rs 20 crore.

Yaba, often referred to as 'crazy medicine,' is banned in India because it contains methamphetamine, a Schedule II substance under the Controlled Substances Act, as well as caffeine.
Meanwhile, in a major success for anti-narcotic agencies, drugs worth Rs 2 crore were seized in Assam’s South Salmara, an official statement said on Sunday.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that 8,000 Yaba tablets were smuggled from a neighboring state with the intention of being sent to Bangladesh.
While lauding the efforts of the police, Assam CM also said that two drug peddlers have been arrested.
In a significant anti-drug operation in Tripura, the East Agartala Police confiscated a huge stash of 1,10,000 Yaba tablets from a hotel in the city. The raid took place at Woodland Park Hotel, Room No. 207, in Moth Chowmohani, resulting in the arrest of three individuals.
The police seized a large trolley bag containing 11 yellow plastic packets, each holding 10,000 Yaba tablets, along with Rs 1,600 in Indian currency and three smartphones.
