In a deadly encounter that took place in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada-Sukma border area, as many as three Naxalites were eliminated by the security forces during retaliatory firing on Sunday. The incident is said to have taken place in the forest area in Dantewada district.
A senior police official confirmed the incident saying that the bodies of the three naxals have been recovered by the security forces. The police team is now making efforts to identify them.

Huge cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered, says police official
The security personnel also recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition and several other materials related to the naxals.
According to the police sources, the incident took place between Tumakpal and Dabba Kunna village, which is located just near the Dantewada-Sukma border.

Following the encounter, the security forces have launched a combing operation in the nearby forest area to track down other naxalites involved in the firing at the police and security personnel.
The face-off occurred on a hill near Dabbakunna village under Katekalyan police station limits when a joint team of security personnel was out on an anti-naxal operation at around 5.30 pm, said a senior police official to news agency PTI.

He added that the personnel belonging to the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Bastar Fighters, both units of the state police, had launched the operation from Tumakpal police camp towards Dabbakunna along the Dantewada-Sukma inter-district border.
