New Delhi: The Delhi Police crime branch has apprehended two shooters affiliated with the Goldy Brar-Lawrence Bishnoi gang. This operation comes in the wake of their involvement in a shooting incident on December 3 at the residence of a former MLA from Punjab, located in Punjabi Bagh.
The arrested shooters have been identified as Akash, a resident of Sonipat, and Akhil from Charkhi Dadri. Both individuals were reportedly part of the firing incident targeting the residence of Punjab's ex-MLA, Deep Malhotra, on December 3. Police sources revealed that this orchestrated attack was carried out at the behest of Goldie Brar, who had previously sent threatening voice notes to the ex-MLA, demanding recovery.
Notably, the intimidation tactics extended beyond mere threats, as Goldie Brar allegedly sanctioned the burning of the ex-MLA's liquor vends in Punjab.
In a parallel development, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted extensive searches at approximately twelve locations across Haryana and Rajasthan. These searches were part of an ongoing investigation linked to the imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Sources suggest that the targeted locations included residences of suspected individuals associated with Bishnoi, who is currently incarcerated and stands accused in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.

The raids, conducted under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), specifically targeted individuals believed to be part of Bishnoi's gang. Punjab Police previously stated that the killing of Moosewala appeared to be a result of inter-gang rivalry, implicating the Bishnoi gang in the incident.
Bishnoi's criminal record and involvement in various nefarious activities span a significant timeline. He was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) from Bathinda jail in Punjab back in November 2022. His apprehension was linked to a case involving a conspiracy by terror groups and criminal syndicates aimed at carrying out violent acts and sensational crimes across India.

This isn't the first time Bishnoi has faced the law. With a history dating back to 2014, Bishnoi had been in prison after a clash with the Rajasthan Police. He was later transferred to Delhi's Tihar jail in the preceding year but was subsequently arrested by the Punjab Police on June 14. The arrest was in connection with the high-profile homicide case involving singer Sidhu Moosewala on May 29.
