Haryana Police's report shows decline in crimes of various categories this year

As per the release, there has been a 12 per cent and 30 per cent decline in crimes against women and robbery cases respectively.

Chandigarh: Most of us get terrified when we hear about Haryana, a north Indian state which has been a site of some of the very dangerous sites. 

However, showing a little improvement, the Haryana police in its latest press release said that the state has reported a slight reduction in various types of crimes reported this year.

As per the release, there has been a 12 per cent and 30 per cent decline in crimes against women and robbery cases respectively. Furthermore, the release also showed that there had been an 18.33 per cent decline in snatching cases and an 8 per cent decline in serious injury cases since 2022. 

Under the chairmanship of the Director General of Police (DGP), the press release stated that feedback was taken when a complaint of a woman victim regarding the cases related to crime against women was solved.

As per the press release, to better the situation even more,  teams in districts will receive training from experts to address crimes against women and children.

An initiative for the same is underway in Gurugram district, where women police personnel will be briefed on issues affecting women and girls in schools.

The official statement also highlights a crucial decision by the DGP regarding 498A cases related to dowry registered in police stations. Going forward, cases will be registered against the accused only after a thorough investigation based on the woman's complaint.
