New Delhi: Residents of Delhi-NCR can expect relief from soaring temperatures as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall across several parts of the country. The wet spell, influenced by two cyclonic circulations, is set to begin from March 12 and continue until March 15.

Cyclonic Systems to Bring Weather Changes

IMD reports that the first cyclonic circulation, originating in Iraq, is moving towards northern India's hilly states, bringing rain and possible snowfall. The second circulation, forming over Bangladesh, is expected to impact eastern and northeastern states over the next five days.

Impact on Delhi-NCR and North India

As a result, Delhi-NCR, Punjab, and Haryana are likely to witness rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning on March 12 and 13. The weather shift is expected to ease the rising temperatures that have gripped the region in recent days.

Meanwhile, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand will see rain, snowfall, and thunderstorms from March 10 to 15. Parts of Rajasthan are also forecasted to receive rain between March 13 and 15.

In the east, states like Bihar, West Bengal, and the northeastern states will experience heavy rainfall from March 11 to 15, with Arunachal Pradesh also facing potential snowfall.

Down south, the IMD forecasts heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Mahe between March 11 and 13, with authorities in Tamil Nadu considering school and college closures if conditions worsen.
