Delhi Police Deports 337 Foreign Nationals Illegally Residing in India

The deported individuals were found to be living without valid visas in the Dwarka region of the national capital.

NEW DELHI: In a significant development, the Delhi Police on Wednesday deported 337 foreign nationals who were illegally residing in India without proper authorization. The deported individuals were found to be living without valid visas in the Dwarka region of the national capital, prompting the Delhi police to take necessary action in this regard.

Acting on intelligence inputs, the Dwarka police team initiated efforts to locate, and subsequently apprehend the foreign nationals who were residing in the country in an illegal manner. During the course of the investigation in 2023, the police apprehended around 244 foreign nationals, including individuals from various areas of the NCT such as Mohan Garden, Dwarka North, Uttar Nagar, Dabri, Bindapur, and AATS.

All the apprehended individuals have been sent to a detention center, Dwarka district DCP Harsha Vardhan told Republic Digital.

Among the detained individuals, 301 were from Nigeria, 10 from Ghana, eight from Uzbekistan, 41 from the Ivory Coast, two from Guinea, one from Liberia, one from Benin, three from Uganda, four from Cameroon, one from Niger, one from Senegal, three from China, and one from the Gambia.

The report found that these individuals were illegally residing or moving around in Dwarka and nearby areas of Delhi without valid visas.
