"Delhi government is working on a multifold winter action plan. Anti-dust campaign began in Delhi on October 7. On October 7, we went for an inspection and saw that many agencies were not following the rules. They were penalized. There are 120 construction sites in Delhi. Representatives of all of them were called in for a meeting today. They have been given training," Rai was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Artificial Rains In Delhi?
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai also wrote a letter to Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav on Thursday, requesting an urgent meeting to discuss the implementation of artificial rain during periods of severe pollution in the capital.
With Diwali approaching, Rai highlighted the likelihood of hazardous air quality in early November and noted that there has already been a delay of about a month in cloud seeding efforts in Delhi.
