Breaking News: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) grills Air India officials over Boeing 787 technical issues. DGCA has launched a rigorous investigation into Air India’s Boeing 787 fleet following a series of technical snags and a fatal crash involving an Air India Boeing Dreamliner.
The investigation comes after a catastrophic crash of an Air India Boeing 787 flight departing from Ahmedabad to London, which resulted in the deaths of 265 people. The aircraft reportedly suffered engine failure shortly after takeoff, crashing into a residential building near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
DGCA’s Response
In response to the incident, the DGCA has ordered mandatory safety inspections on all Boeing 787 aircraft operated by Air India. These inspections focus on, Engine performance checks, Flight control system evaluations, Fuel system diagnostics, Cabin air compressor assessments.
Additionally, pre-departure inspections have been mandated for all Boeing 787 flights departing from India, with enhanced flight control checks required within two weeks.
Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu has assured the public that the investigation is being treated with utmost seriousness, emphasizing the need for stricter aviation safety protocols.
