NEW DELHI: BJP MLA Nitesh Rane on Monday, 25 December, sought removal of the Investigating Officer (IO) Chimaji Adhav from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) overseeing the Disha Salian case.

Republic has learnt that Rane wrote to the Mumbai Police Special CP Deven Bharti, demanding the removal of IO Chimaji Adhav, who is the Senior Inspector of Police at the Malvani Police Station.

Earlier this month, Senior PI Adhav was appointed to conduct a thorough inquiry into the Disha Salian accidental death report (ADR), with Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ajay Bansal delegated with the role of overseeing the case to ensure a comprehensive and impartial investigation.
