DRI busts Kenyan woman with Rs 15 crore cocaine at Mumbai airport

Mumbai: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) conducted a bust at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International (CSMI) Airport, apprehending a Kenyan woman arriving from Nairobi on Flight No. KQ 204 for carrying cocaine worth 14 crore rupees. The woman's identity remains undisclosed, and she was intercepted based on intelligence gathered by DRI officials.

Upon inspecting her luggage, DRI officers discovered a hidden stash of contraband weighing 1490 grams. The substance, suspected to be cocaine, was concealed within two black-coloured polythene packets hidden inside a hair conditioner and a body wash bottle, according to reports. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately Rs. 14.90 Crore.

The female African suspect has been taken into custody under the NDPS Act 1985 and subsequently remanded to judicial custody pending further legal proceedings. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to uncover potential connections within the drug supply chain.
