On the Eve of Engineers Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to twitter to extend his tribute along with several other noted politicians. Engineers Day is celebrated in India, Sri Lanka and Tanzania in memory of the country's engineering stalwarts. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya on birth anniversary which falls on September 15.

The BJP's official handle shared a poster of the iconic Civil Engineer and captioned it as a tribute to the engineering father of the nation. The Tweet highlighted that he was a Bharat Ratna recipient and the tribute was a humble way to remember the legend.
About Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya
Visvesvaraya was the 19th Diwan of Mysore from 1912 to 1919. He was the Chief Engineer responsible for the construction of Krishna Raja Sagara dam in North-West suburb of Mysuru city and chief engineer of the flood protection system for the city of Hyderabad. Due to his outstanding contribution to nation-building and increase infrastructure capability in India. The government conferred 'Bharat Ratna' on him in 1955.
