SI Recruitment Paper Leak: Families Protest in Rajasthan, Urge Government Not to Cancel
Family members of candidates selected in the police sub-inspector recruitment exam of 2021 on Sunday lodged a protest at Shaheed Smarak.
Japiur: Family members of candidates who were selected in the 2021 police sub-inspector recruitment exam staged a protest on Sunday at Shaheed Smarak, demanding that the examination not be cancelled. The protest follows the arrests of several people, including 50 trainee sub-inspectors, in connection with a paper leak scandal. A cabinet committee of six ministers is set to decide on the cancellation of the exam.
Protesters, holding banners and placards, voiced their demand for strict action against those who passed the exam using unfair means but argued that cancelling the entire examination would punish innocent candidates. The families urged the government not to penalize the honest aspirants due to the mistakes of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), which had conducted the exam.
The protestors also sought a meeting with Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma to present their grievances. Over 800 candidates were selected through the exam, with many already undergoing training at various police academies. The paper leak case is currently being investigated by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police.
