People traveling from Delhi to Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar save a lot of time through Purvanchal Expressway. But passengers, beware! Traffic on this expressway will remain closed on this day before New Year 2024. Due to stringing work on power transmission lines on the Purvanchal Expressway, traffic will be partially blocked near Village Bani between 11 AM and 3 PM on December 28, 2023. This information was given by Mukesh Kumar, Additional Chief Executive Officer UPEDA on December 26, 2023.

The Purvanchal Expressway connects many big districts of Uttar Pradesh like Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur. Thousands of passengers travel on the 340-km long expressway every day.

Mukesh Kumar informed that work is to be done in the second circuit of the overhead 132 KV Kadipur-Gaushaisinghpur power line at village Bani Tehsil Jaisinghpur on Purvanchal Express. Due to this, time has been given to get the work done in three blocks in 45 minutes, due to which the traffic will be partially blocked in this area.

Earlier, movement of vehicles on Purvanchal Expressway was banned for 14 days in June. From 9 AM to 4 PM, all the vehicles coming from Ghazipur-Gau side, were diverted at Semri 136 km and were sent from Katka to Prayagraj, Sultanpur, Kurebhar, Ayodhya and Toll Plaza Munjesh via Purvanchal Expressway to Lucknow.
