Bengaluru: India Post has introduced a convenient door-to-door parcel pick-up service in Bengaluru, a move aimed at enhancing customer convenience while also easing the rush at post offices. Dubbed as the 'Click ‘n’ Book' service, it enables customers to have their postal articles collected from their doorstep. To avail of this service, individuals are required to book and pay the specified postal charges through the India Post portal. Subsequently, the delivery staff will collect the parcel at a time scheduled by the addressee.
Under this initiative, customers can book up to five documents or parcels simultaneously, with a nominal pickup charge of Rs 50. The combined weight of these items should not exceed 5 kg, and the total tariff ought to be below Rs 500. Bengaluru is the primary beneficiary of this service, encompassing an extensive reach across 96 pin codes within the city. Moreover, the 'Click ‘n’ Book' service extends its coverage to 19 areas in North Karnataka and 18 areas in South Karnataka, extending the accessibility of this customer-friendly offering.

Individuals intending to utilise the Speed Post, register documents, or parcel services must initiate the process by booking their items online through the official India Post portal. This online booking requires mandatory registration, followed by payment facilitated through the online mode. The customer must note down the transaction ID of the booking on the left-side corner of the item. As the postman collects the article and brings it to the post office, the label containing the sender and addressee details will be printed and pasted on the cover. The pickup slot available for the same day or the next working day will be listed online and customers can select a time as per their convinience.
