As Ayodhya gears up for the monumental consecration ceremony of the grand Ram Temple, devotees of Lord Ram, along with residents, have an additional reason to rejoice. The famous 'laddu' from Hanumangarhi in Ayodhya has secured the esteemed Geographical Indication (GI) tag, solidifying its stature as a globally recognised delicacy. This noteworthy recognition for the local treat arrives at a significant juncture, just ahead of the highly anticipated Ram Temple inauguration scheduled for January 22, 2024, in Ayodhya.
Made from besan (gram flour) and pure desi ghee, the laddus from Hanumangarhi hold a distinct position in the realm of confectioneries. The GI tag catapults these sweets onto the international platform, signifying their exceptional characteristics. This accreditation is viewed as a manifestation of the divine blessings bestowed by Lord Ram and Hanuman upon the denizens of Ayodhya.
PM Modi Spearheads Development Blitz in Ayodhya
In a significant development push, Prime Minister Narendra Modi catalyzed a wave of progress in Ayodhya on December 30, ahead of the highly anticipated inauguration of the Ram Mandir. The Prime Minister unveiled an array of transformative projects, introducing an airport, a modernized railway station, two new Amrit Bharat, and six new Vande Bharat trains. Addressing a public gathering post the inauguration of developmental ventures valued at Rs 15,700 crore, PM Modi emphasized the imminent surge in the city's footfall following the construction of the Ram Mandir. He underscored the government's commitment to propelling Ayodhya's growth, envisioning a smart city enriched with modern infrastructure.
PM Modi inaugurated the Ayodhya Dham airport and highlighted its significance in connecting modern India with the grandeur of the new Ram temple. He elaborated on the transformative plans for Ayodhya Dham railway station, indicating a substantial increase in its capacity from serving 10-15 thousand people currently to accommodating 60 thousand commuters daily post its comprehensive redevelopment.

The ambitious developmental agenda unveiled projects valued at over Rs 11,100 crore focused on revitalizing civic amenities and establishing world-class infrastructure within the temple town. Additionally, projects valued at more than Rs 4,600 crore were launched for various regions across Uttar Pradesh.
