Section 144 to be imposed in Noida, Greater Noida ahead of New Year celebration

According to the police, Section 144 will be imposed on December 31 & January 1 to prevent unlawful assembly of five or more people in Noida and Greater Noida.

Ahead of the New Year celebration the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police have announced that prohibitory measures will be imposed in the area on December 31st and January 1, in order to ensure safety and security. As per police sources, Section 144 will be imposed on both days, to prevent unlawful assembly of five or more people in Noida and Greater Noida.

A senior police official said that any unauthorised processions, holding religious prayers and consumption of alcohol in public places have also been banned for both Sunday and Monday.

Adequate measures have been taken to ensure peace is maintained, says police official

According to the order issued by the police commissionerate, the use of private drones in a radius of 1 Km of government establishments is completely banned during the period and police permission would be required for any use of drones in other areas.

The read, "The festivities would begin on New Year's Eve which will continue till January 1. Along with these festivities, various programmes like demonstrations etc. are proposed to be organized by various organizations from time to time."

A senior police official said that the possibility of creating disturbances by the anti-social elements cannot be ruled out and in order to curb them or minimize them, appropriate arrangements have been made.

Further, the police have been instructed that any mischievous elements must be prevented from carrying out such activities which may create a possibility of creating an adverse environment. Police have clearly mentioned that anyone found creating nuisance in the area will be dealt strictly under provisions of law.
