Noida: An air conditioner on Wednesday burst into flames, leading to a major fire at Sixth Avenue Housing society at Gaur City 1 in Greno West in Greater Noida.
According to sources, the fire erupted at the ground floor of Tower C.
Visuals have emerged from the blast site. In the video, the entire area can be seen covered in black residue generated from smoke. The intensity of the fire was such that the walls of the room got damaged.
However, there were no immediate reports of any injuries and casualties. The exact reason behind the blast is not clear.
In a similar incident, a massive blaze had erupted in a two-storeyed building in Ghazaibad's Vasundhara on June 6 at around 5:30 am. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The fire had engulfed the whole building. As per the Chief Fire Officer, Rahul Pal, the fire was triggered by an AC blast.
"Around 5:30 AM, Vasundhara fire station received the information that a fire had broken out in a two-storeyed building. Upon reaching there we saw that the fire had engulfed the building. The fire was caused due to an AC blast. The fire unit was able to extinguish the blaze within one hour," CFO had said. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
Previously in May, a fire had broken out in an apartment in Noida in Sector 119 due to a short circuit. As per officials, the incident occurred on Wednesday night, when fire broke out on the 17th floor of Eldeco Aamantran Society.
Upon receiving information, the fire brigade arrived at the spot and managed to douse the fire.
No casualties were been reported in the incident.
