In old Gurugram, waterlogging in Sadar Bazar, Gurdwara Road, and Old Delhi Road caused traffic jams that persisted until the afternoon.
Gurugram: Heavy rainfall overnight led to waterlogging, traffic congestion, and power outages in several areas of Gurugram on Thursday. Traffic slowed significantly on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway during peak hours due to waterlogging.
Areas including Rajiv Chowk, Golf Course Extension Road, Railway Road, Subhash Chowk, Udyog Vihar, and Narsinghpur were affected by flooding.
In old Gurugram, waterlogging in Sadar Bazar, Gurdwara Road, and Old Delhi Road caused traffic jams that persisted until the afternoon.
"It took me almost 20 minutes to cover a distance of around a kilometre after getting stuck near the Police Line in the morning. The situation is very poor and half the road is waterlogged," said a commuter.
A senior traffic police officer reported severe traffic congestion near the Sirhaul border, Rajiv Chowk, Narsinghpur, and other areas in the morning.
Power outages were also reported across various parts of the city.
The local Met office recorded 6 mm of rainfall over the past 24 hours and forecasts light to moderate rainfall for the day.
