Heatwave Tragedy: 3 Passengers Die in Shramjeevi Express En Route to Delhi

Amethi: In a tragic incident, three passengers traveling in the general compartment of the Shramjeevi Express, which was en route from Bihar to Delhi, succumbed to extreme heat. 

The passengers suddenly fell ill, prompting the railway police to transport them to Jagdishpur Hospital for medical attention. Upon arrival, doctors pronounced all three passengers dead. 

The deceased hailed from Bihar and Varanasi. 

Following the incident, the railway police notified the families of the deceased and initiated the necessary procedures.The extreme heat is being cited as the primary cause of death for the three passengers. The incident took place at Nihalgarh Railway Station in Amethi.

India has been grappling with unprecedented heatwave conditions, with temperatures soaring to record highs across multiple regions. The intense heat has resulted in widespread distress and health issues, with several cities reporting fatalities linked to the extreme weather. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued numerous warnings, advising people to take precautions and minimize exposure to the sun.

The current heatwave in North India has been particularly severe, with temperatures nearing the 50-degree Celsius mark in Delhi and other areas. This prolonged heatwave is reported to be one of the harshest in India's history, exacerbating challenges faced by residents and straining local infrastructure and resources.

Bihar, in particular, has been experiencing record-breaking temperatures, as reported by ABP Live. The state has witnessed a significant number of deaths attributed to the heatwave, with reports indicating a rise in fatalities due to extreme temperatures. The situation in Patna has been dire, forcing residents to observe a self-imposed curfew to avoid the scorching heat.

As the heatwave continues to impact daily life across India, authorities and citizens alike are urged to take proactive measures to mitigate its effects and ensure public safety.
