Hizbul commander Jehangir Saroori's hideout busted by Jammu and Kashmir Police

In a significant operation, a hideout of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terrorist Jehangir Saroori has been unearthed by Jammu And Kashmir Police. The hideout was discovered in the Paribag area of Bhadhat Saroor in Jammu and Kashmir. The Police have recovered evidence indicating Saroori’s presence at the hideout. 

The operation was carried out by Kishtwar Police along with Army 26 Rashtriya Rifles and Central Reserve Police Force 52 battalion after proper planning informed Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar Khalil Poswal. The forces have neutralised the hideout. Soori was hiding there and planning subversive activities, and the defence personnel suspected of the recovered evidence from the location. The area has been cordoned and search operations are being carried out. 

The forces have recovered two blankets, some edible items and some provisions of personal use, suggesting that the hideout was used as a safe haven to escape from investigating agencies. His affiliation with the terrorist organisation active in the Jammu and Kashmir region poses a significant threat to the security of the region.

Saroori is the longest surviving terrorist of Jammu and Kashmir and is referred to as an A++ category terrorist. He has managed to escape for a very long time. He had joined militancy during the 1990s. Last month, the Jammu and Kashmir Police detained Abdul Karim Butt, the brother of Jehangir Saroori under the Public Safety Act (PSA) from Kishtwar.
