New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert due to the forecast of extremely heavy rainfall in several regions across the Western and Southern parts of India. 

The red alert is in effect for specific areas including Konkan, Goa, Coastal Karnataka, South Karnataka, Saurashtra & Kutch, and Madhya Maharashtra

Additionally, an orange alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in West Madhya Pradesh on July 16th, and in Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Telangana on July 18th and 19th.

The IMD has predicted heavy rain in several parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, on Tuesday (July 16). IMD has issued a red alert for Raigad and an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Satar, and Kolhapur for tomorrow.
