Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday, June 15, allocated portfolios to the newly appointed cabinet ministers of the Odisha government, who took oath on June 12 in the BJP-led state government. On the chief minister’s advice, Odisha Governor Raghubar Das announced the portfolios allocated to the ministers. CM Majhi, who allocated various portfolios to his cabinet, chose to keep the Ministry of Home, Finance, General Administration and Public Grievance, Information and Public Relations and Water Resources with himself. According to the governor’s notification, the chief minister will oversee key departments including Home, General Administration and Public Grievance, Finance, Information & Public Relations, Water Resources, and Planning & Convergence along with all other departments not specifically assigned to anyone.

16 Ministers Including CM Took Oath on June 12

In his Cabinet, Chief Minister Majhi has assigned Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh the ministries such as Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment and Energy. The Women and Child Development ministry, Mission Shakti and Tourism have been assigned to the other Deputy Chief Minister, Pravati Parida.

The portfolios were anticipated to be announced on Thursday. On Friday, cabinet minister Prithiviraj Harichandan had said that the allocation was completed and the list from the Governor’s house could be announced anytime. Now, the portfolio list has been announced on Saturday.

  3. Pravati Parida (Deputy CM) - Women and Child Development, Mission Shakti, Tourism
  4. Suresh Pujari - Revenue and Disaster Management
  5. Rabi Narayan Naik - Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water
  6. Nityananda Gond - School and Mass Education, ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare
  7. Krushna Chandra Patra - Food Suppliers and Consumer Welfare, Science & Technology
  8. Prithviraj Harichandan - Law, Works, Excise
  9. Mukesh Mahaling - Health and Family Welfare, Parliamentary Affairs, Electronic and Information Technology
  10. Bibhuti Bhusan Jena - Commerce and Transport, Steel & Mines
  11. Dr Krushna Chandra Mohapatra - Housing and Urban Development, Public Enterprises
