New Delhi: India is issuing visas to Bangladeshi nationals in situations of medical emergencies in a limited manner, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal informed on Friday.
"We are issuing visas in limited manner for medical, emergency purposes. Once the situation becomes normal, law and order is resorted, then we will begin our full-fledged operations of Visa,” MEA said.
Responding to media queries related to Sheikh Hasina’s passport being disqualified by Bangladesh, MEA said that the former Prime Minister came to India on a very short notice for safety reasons and they have nothing further to add on the matter.
The Indian visa application centre in mid August resumed “limited operations”, days after Bangladesh saw violent clashes which led to the ouster of prime minister Sheikh Hasina.

Hasina, 76, resigned and fled to India following widespread protests against her Awami League-led government over a controversial job quota system.
In a press release, the Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) announced the resumption of limited operations in its Dhaka centre.

"IVAC (JFP) Dhaka has resumed limited operations. Messages will be sent to individual applicants regarding (the) collection of passports," the press release said.
It requested applicants to arrive at the centre only after receiving a text message to collect their passports.
"Because of limited operations, the process may take longer. We request your understanding," it said.
