Election Commission of India allots 'Man blowing turha"' symbol to Sharad Pawar-led NCP. 

The Election Commission had allotted the NCP's symbol 'Wall Clock' to the Ajit Pawar faction of the party on February 6, in a massive setback to its founder Sharad Pawar.

The uncle and nephew have been in a factional dispute since July 2023, after Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar rebelled against Sharad Pawar and joined the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena government in Maharashtra, which caused a split in the NCP.

Udit Raj earlier released a statement regarding the same stating, “Shri Digvijay Singh and I are being taken by police. We were protesting against EVM. Thousands of people assembled today at Jantar Mantar and many have been arrested. At the IYC office many leaders like Dipankar Bhattacharya, Deepak Babaria, Arvinder Singh Lovely, Mehmood Paracha assembled and after the speeches when we wanted to take out a procession, the police arrested (us). We are kept at Sansad Marg Police Station."

PM Modi in Navsari said, "When I was in Gujarat, I used to talk about 5F... which meant:

Form to Fiber,
Fiber to Factory,
Factory to Fashion,
Fashion to Foreign."

This means that the farmer will grow cotton, the cotton will go to the factory, threads made in the factory will turn into clothing, and this clothing will be exported abroad, he added. 

Today, Surat Silk City is expanding to Navsari in a way. Today, in this sector, India has started to compete with the world's largest producers and exporters, and Gujarat's textile industry has a significant contribution to this, he stated.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh from February 22-23. On February 22, PM Modi held a mega road show in Navsari which was recieved by an electrifying welcome by the people. 

PM Modi will participate in the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said ina statement. 

The Golden Jubilee celebration of GCMMF will witness the participation of more than 1.25 lakh farmers at Narendra Modi Stadium, Motera, Ahmedabad, added the statement.

At the two public functions in Gujarat at Mahesana and Navsari, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth more than Rs 22,850 crore.

The projects will encompass important sectors like road, rail, energy, health, internet connectivity, urban development, water supply, tourism etc in districts like Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Banaskantha, Anand, Mahesana, Kachchh, Kheda, Bharuch, Tapi, Vadodara, Surat, Navsari, Panchmahal, Valsad, and Narmada. After taking Darshan at the Valinath temple today in Mehsana, Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “This temple is not just a place of worship, but a symbol of thousands of years’ of civilization, Temples have been centres of knowledge and science.” 

The PM added, “The country is following the mantra of Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas today. This mantra is visible at Valinath temple also. Temples and houses for the poor both are being built simultaneously (by the BJP government) and 80 crore people getting free ration today. It is, in a way, the Lord's Prasadam. Lakhs of poor families get clean water today and that is no less than 'Amrit' (nectar).”

“The Congress made Somnath a matter of conflict. The Congress questioned the existence of Lord Ram When Shri Ram Temple (Ayodhya) has been built, they still are not leaving the path of hatred,” added the prime minister.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting with government and organisation officials in Varanasi today at 9 pm. Discussions will be held on Lok Sabha Elections 2024 and Rajya Sabha Elections 2024.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and both the Deputy CMs of the government will be present in the meeting. The decision as regards the Lok Sabha Ekections 2024 candidates in UP will be made post the BJP meeting.

The party has decided the names of 3-3 candidates for all 80 seats of UP.
