Union Minister Smriti Irani on Monday made big allegation against the TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan, who is absconding after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) tried to raid his premises. “Husbands were told, you may be the husband but you have no right on your wife. You will not be spared unless TMC men are satisfied from your wife, TMC men would say,” said Smriti Irani. 

She further added, “Section 144 have been imposed in Sandeshkhali to prevent women from speaking out the horror they faced.”

The motion was moved by Sovandeb Chattopadhyay, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs of West Bengal and placed before the House by the Speaker and the motion was passed.

Mathura: A horrific accident took place on Yamuna Expressway in Mahavan police station area on Monday. Here the sleeper class bus collided with the divider. Meanwhile, the car coming behind the bus collided with the bus. A fire broke out when both the vehicles collided with each other. This Monday morning, the bus going towards Noida went out of control and collided with the divider at Mile Stone 117 of Yamuna Expressway in Mahavan police station area. Before the villagers could reach the bus, the car coming from behind collided with the accident bus. After the collision between the bus and the car, both the vehicles caught fire. The car and the bus started burning in the flames.

Police arrested 25 people on Sunday in connection with the violence that erupted in Uttarakhand's Haldwani over the demolition of an "illegally built" madrasa and an adjoining mosque in Banbhoolpura. This takes the total arrests in the case to 30 with five already held by the police.

Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand government has sought more central forces for deployment in Haldwani, officials told PTI news agency. Four companies -- containing about 100 personnel each -- of the Central Paramilitary Forces have been sought to be deployed in Banbhoolpura.
