The PM posted about his visit on X, with pictures with the Padma Vibhushan awardee. “Glad to have met Vyjayanthimala Ji in Chennai. She has just been conferred the Padma Vibhushan and is admired across India for her exemplary contribution to the world of Indian cinema,” said PM Modi.

Builder Niranjan Hiranandani was questioned for more than 10 hours by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). While speaking to the media after the questioning, Hirandani said, “I am cooperating with the agencies. The case is 15 years old. What were the agencies doing since the last 15 years? We have been cooperating with the agency and will cooperate further.”

Even after the invitation of Ram Mandir consecration, Congress did not go. They did not listen to me. I was in favour of attending the Pran Pratishtha.”

“Gujarat has always given me abundant love. Congress must take this seriously that a person like me is forced to resign. People know which party is performing. I never talk without evidences neither am I scared of any questions. I have not yet decided on joining BJP," he said.

While addressing a public rally in Telangana's Adilabad on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a veiled jibe at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad Yadav after his remarks on the PM's family. PM Modi said, “Some people raised questions over my family.” The PM added, “Corruption, dynastic politics and appeasement – the parties of INDI Alliance are all submerged in these. Their leaders are now fretting and fuming. I question their dynastic rule. That is why they have started to say Modi has no family. Tomorrow they might say you have never served a sentence so you cannot come into politics. My brothers and sisters of Telangana, my life is an open book … I left home with a dream that I will live for the people of my country. Every moment will be for you. I will have no dream of my own…. This is why crores of people regard me as their own. That is why I say all the 140 crore people of this country comprise my family.”

After Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad Yadav made remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his family on Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has hit back at the former Bihar Chief Minister. The BJP said today at a press conference at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi that the entire country is PM Modi's family. 

BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said that the Opposition parties have been launching personal attacks on Modi and making such "petty" remarks against him for the last 16-17 years. said the entire country is PM Modi's family. "In that series, yesterday in a rally in Patna, once again such petty remarks have been made against Prime Minister Modi by Lalu Prasad Yadav in the presence of INDI Alliance leaders. This is sad and painful," said Trivedi.

"He (Lalu Yadav) talked about Modi's family. I want to remind (Yadav) that for Prime Minister Modi, the entire country is his family," said the spokesperson.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reiterated this afternoon that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons are “illegal” and “invalid”. The CM said, “ED calling me on specific dates…The High Court had quashed the summons.” Kejriwal skipped the ED summons for the eighth time.

The Trinamool Congress MLA Tapas Roy from Baranagar tendered his resignation from his post as well as the party. 

He told reporters, "I am really disappointed with the way the party is functioning. I am fed up with so many allegations of corruption levelled against the party and the government. Secondly, I do not support the way the Sandeshkhali issue was handled."

He further added, “There are several reasons for the resignation. The reasons include various scams, the Sandeshkhali incident and insults. Last but not the least, immediately after January 12, the ED raided my flat. Nobody from the party came forward to give a statement or take the pains to talk to my family. So I am really sad. The ed was not sent to my house by the BJP. Sudip Banerjee had sent the ED because he is afraid, frightened and jealous of me.”

A 7-judge Constitution bench of the Supreme Court on Monday ruled that an MP or MLA 'can't claim immunity' from prosecution on a charge of 'bribery' in connection with the vote/speech in the Parliament or Legislative Assembly.

The apex Court’s seven-judge bench in its unanimous view overruled the 1998 PV Narasimha Roa judgment case which granted immunity to MPs/MLAs from prosecution to bribery for voting in the Parliament.
