J&K's Sanidhya Saraf Grabs Silver at International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics in Brazil
Sanidhya Saraf is first student from Jammu and Kashmir to achieve this honor at an international level in Astronomy and Astrophysics.
New Delhi: Sanidhya Saraf has won a silver medal at the International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA 2024) held in Brazil, on Tuesday.
He is the first student from Jammu and Kashmir to achieve this honor at an international level Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics.
Sanidhya represented India as one of just five students at IOAA 2024, he has been previously ranked among the top five in the Indian National Astronomy Olympiad (INAO 2024) and advanced to Stage 3. His journey began with the National Standard Examination in Astronomy (NSEA), conducted by IAPT, which assesses high school students' aptitude in Astronomy. This led to his selection for the Indian National Astronomy Olympiad (INAO).
99.6% in ICSE Class X Examination
In addition to his Olympiad achievements, Sanidhya has also made outstanding performance in the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Class X Examination in 2021, in which he got 99.6% and secured the All India National Merit Position 2 as well as Pune City Rank 1.
Sanidhya has also been selected for Stanford University's esteemed Pre-Collegiate Online Mathematics & Physics Spring term, where he will study Differential Equations with a 100% scholarship.
