The Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday directed the state government to file its response to a petition seeking initiation of an FIR against Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his family for alleged allocation of a mine and land in an industrial area. The criminal writ application pleaded for a direction to the anti-corruption bureau to register an FIR against the CM, his spouse Kalpana Soren and sister-in-law Sarla Murmu.

It was alleged in the petition that Soren misused the office of the chief minister to allocate a mine in his name and plots within the industrial area in the names of his spouse and sister-in-law.

Samajwadi Party leader Mohibbullah Nadvi on Wednesday met those injured in the Karol Bagh building collapse incident in Delhi RML hospital. He saida, "The injured should be given proper medical treatment. I demand that the UP govt to give compensation of a minimum of Rs 15 lakhs each to the families of the deceased. There are complaints that proper treatment is not been given to the injured victims."

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Wednesday said that the state government will bring Yuva Niti-2024 policy for the all-round development of the youth, while addressing the 18th convocation of the Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) in Jaipur in the presence of President Draupadi Murmu. 

Sharma said that the state government is setting new dimensions in the field of education every day. The government will make four lakh government recruitments in the next five years. This year also more than one lakh posts are being recruited.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Wardha city in Maharashtra on Friday to mark the first anniversary of PM Vishwakarma Scheme and inaugurate several development projects including a mega Textile Park. He will virtually perform Bhoomi Pujan of PM Mitra Park coming up in Amravati, a government release stated.

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said, "Today, the union cabinet has given its approval to the proposal of One Nation One Election under the leadership of PM Modi. It's a welcoming step. It is a much-awaited demand in the country. Due to simultaneous elections, the expenditure and time will be saved and that money can be used for other fundamental things like health, education."

On the Union Cabinet's landmark decision for the Indian space centre, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "Great news for the space sector! The Union Cabinet has approved the first step towards the Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS), expanding the Gaganyaan programme! The Centre has unlocked the biometrics of over 9 lakh people affected during the NRC in Assam, and started the process of issuing Aadhaar cards to them, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Wednesday. He said the UIDAI will dispatch 12,000-13,000 such Aadhaar cards to Tinsukia on September 23 on a pilot basis.

More than 37,000 idols of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Gauri were immersed in water bodies across Mumbai by Wednesday morning as devotees bade farewell to their favourite elephant-headed deity with the conclusion of the festival, officials said.

The immersion processions, which began on Tuesday morning on the last day of the Ganesh festival, continued smoothly throughout the night, with devotees thronging the city's beaches, lakes and artificial ponds for immersion of the idols.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has constructed a new bailey bridge at Zeema in Mangan district of Sikkim restoring road connectivity to the China border along Lachen valley, an official release said.

On May 29 this year the crucial bailey bridge at Zeema in North Sikkim was damaged in flash floods in Lachen Chu river.
