Landslide Hits Jammu-Poonch National Highway, Traffic Disrupted

Jammu: Traffic was disrupted on the Jammu-Poonch National Highway due to heavy landslide at Shedera in Poonch district on Friday morning. Many vehicles on the highway were left standed after the landslide blocked the way. This comes amid weather department's prediction of heavy rainfall in the area over next few days.

Cranes were deployed to clear the debris from the route to normalise the traffic flow.

In view of heavy prediction, the SDRF on Thursday asked people in the district to refrain from visiting areas near river or drains.  

Meanwhile, rain lashed several parts of Ganderbal and Srinagar this morning. Visuals have emerged which shows streets drenched in rain.
