Ayodhya: In a first, Republic has gained access inside the Ram Temple ahead of the January 22 consecration ceremony. The temple is 161-feet tall with three storeys – comprising the ‘garv griha’ where Ram Lala will be kept in the first storey. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be carrying the vigraha during the consecration ceremony. Besides, there will also be Nitya, Kirtan and Rang Mandaps on the same floor where devotees will pay their respects. Out of three statues of Ram Lala, one one will be chosen by a panel of 100 priests.

According to sources, Ram Lala's ‘surya tilak’ ceremony will be performed for five minutes on every Ram Navami for five years.

“Special arrangements are being made to ensure that the best of the materials are being used for the construction of the grand Ram Temple. The marbels are 35 mm thick and the best that you can get in the world,” a construction supervisor told Republic.

The most beautiful thing about the construction is that materials have been used from all across India for construction. Even the labourers are from all across the country. The doors are carved out of woods from Maharashtra and Telangana among other places. Out of 42 gates, 5 primary gates are made from Sangod Wood. The front space of the temple is 57,000 square feet.
