Maharashtra Shocker: 19-Year-Old Nursing Student Raped by Auto-Rickshaw Driver in Ratnagiri

Ratnagiri: A 19-year-old nursing student is raped by an auto-rickshaw driver in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra who fled the scene after committing the crime.

This incident comes days a fortnight after the gruesome rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

19-Year-Old Nursing Student Raped in Ratnagiri

A 19-year-old nursing student was raped in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri. The victim had taken an auto to go home, but the auto driver mixed something in the water on the pretext of giving water to the victim.

Auto-Rickshaw Driver Gave Her Sedatives, Raped Her and Fled

The incident happened while she boarded an auto rickshaw to reach home. She was off-roading, rammed her into the water with sedatives, by the auto driver. 

She then took her to a secluded place, raped her, and fled the scene. 

Victim's Parents File Complaint, Protests Break Out

Protests broke out in the area last night after the parents of the woman filed a complaint with the police. 

The survivor has been admitted to a hospital, while the police are looking out for the accused based on the CCTV footage of the auto.
