In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old was electrocuted while trying to charge his mobile phone in Bengaluru on Friday.

Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old was electrocuted while trying to charge his mobile phone in Bengaluru on Friday, as per media reports. 

The deceased has been identified as Srinivas, a native of Bidar. Srinivas was staying at a paying guest facility in Manjunath Nagar, according to media reports. 

Srinivas was a graduate who moved to Bengaluru to pursue a course in computer science.

The incident occurred when Srinivas tried to connect the charger of his smartphone to a socket on Friday morning. 

The Basaveshwara Nagar police have registered a case and are investigating.

A police officer stated that it is suspected that his hands were wet at the time. 

The police are looking into whether a broken socket or a faulty charger led to the incident. 

The postmortem report is awaited. A team is also looking into the charger.
