Man Rapes 3-Year-Old Girl In Delhi's Rohini District, Police Nab Him

A 3-year-old girl child was raped in Delhi’s Rohini district by a man a few metres from the victim’s house under the jurisdiction of Begumpur Police Station.

New Delhi: A 3-year-old girl child was raped in Delhi’s Rohini district by a 25-year-old man at an isolated place a few metres from the victim’s house under the jurisdiction of Begumpur police station. The mother of the victim spotted her daughter in the bushes with the accused, who ran away as soon as he saw her. The victim was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the incident sparked major outrage in the area and people gathered to protest demanding immediate arrest and stringent action against the accused.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP, Rohini) said that the incident occurred on September 9. “A PCR call regarding the rape of a girl child aged about three years was received at Begumpur Police Station.”

The local police immediately reached the spot located in the Jain Nagar area in Rohini, where the mother of the victim child stated that her 3-year-old daughter was sleeping on a cot in the street in front of her house. After some time she noticed that her daughter was missing from the cot.

The mother of the victim and other family members started searching for the child, during which they found her in the bushes in the vicinity. The accused was also present there, who ran away after seeing the victim’s mother.

The information was passed to the local police. On the statement of the victim’s mother, a case under relevant sections and POCSO Act was registered at Begumpur police station and a search for the accused was initiated. The accused was nabbed by the police.

Further legal action is being taken into the matter.
