Man Stabs Woman For Refusing Marriage Proposal in Hyderabad
Refusing a marriage proposal turned out ugly for a married woman in Telangana’s Hyderabad, as the man, who proposed to her, stabbed her at her house.

Hyderabad: Refusing a marriage proposal turned out ugly for a married woman in Telangana’s Hyderabad, as the man, who proposed to her, attempted to kill the woman by stabbing her at her house. The incident took place on Tuesday morning in the Chatrinaka area, following which the woman was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
On information, the police registered a case of attempt to murder and nabbed the accused from the crime spot. The accused has been identified as Manikantha (30). The police are probing the matter further.
According to the police, Manikantha (30), who runs a food court at Abid Road in Hyderabad was friends with the victim, who is a beautician and resides in Chatrinaka. They both are distant relatives. As per the information, the woman was earlier married to one Arshad, however, the couple has filed a divorce petition in the court. The case is under trial in the court.
Reportedly, Manikantha met the victim at a family function and both of them got into friendship. As their friendship flourished, Manikantha insisted on getting married while she told him that they can get married only after her case in the court is finalized.
An official of the Chatrinaka police station, said, “On Tuesday morning around 9 am, Manikantha went to the woman’s house and took a screwdriver and stabbed her repeatedly in the chest and face leading to injuries.”
After the incident, the neighbours, who heard the woman’s cries, rushed to the house and caught hold of Manikantha. On information, the police also reached the house and took the accused into custody. During preliminary inquiry, the police found that Manikantha suspected that the woman was friends with some other person and was cheating on him.
Further legal action into the matter is being taken.
