New Delhi: As the national capital continues to grapple with heat wave conditions, incidents of fire have been on the rise in the entire Delhi-NCR region. In another incident, a massive fire broke out in an IGL gas pipeline at a commercial building in South Delhi’s Saket area, leading to major panic like situation. The fire erupted in the intervening night of May 30 and 31, which spread rapidly engulfing the entire building in a moment.
On information, the local police team from the Mehrauli police station and fire personnel along with fire tenders rushed to the spot and efforts to control the fire were initiated. No casualties were reported during the incident.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Delhi), Ankit Chauhan, stated, “In the intervening night of May 30 and 31, at around 1.40 am, information regarding a fire at a house in Paryavaran Complex in Saket was received at Mehrauli police station.”
“Police staff reached the spot and found the fire in the IGL gas pipeline outside the house. Two fire tenders reached and extinguished the fire. A team from IGL also visited the scene and managed the pipelines,” DCP Chauhan said.

According to the police, during the preliminary inquiry, the cause of the fire appeared to be a technical issue in a gas pipeline.
No casualties were reported as the situation was handled within 20 minutes.

Further legal action is being taken in the matter.
