Metro Trains In Jammu, Srinagar, 20% quota for Agniveers among BJP's Promises For J-K
Appealing to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Amit Shah said, "Give us a five-year tenure to ensure the development of the region."
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ) on Friday announced bringing metro trains, creating new tourists hotspots, reservation for Agniveers among other promises as it released its manifesto for the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu-Kashmir.
BJP has promised to expedite the metro services in Jammu and Srinagar to improve urban connectivity and enhance mobility. It has promised to build 10,000 km of new rural roads to ensure that no village is left behind.
BJP said that it will complete projects like Sadhna Pass Tunnel, Katra-Banihal Railway Tunnel under the ‘Har Tunnel Tez Pahal’ Yojana for seamless connectivity in Jammu & Kashmir.
Quota for Agniveers
BJP promised that it will give a 20 per cent quota to Agniveers in Jammu-Kashmir government jobs and police recruitment, and will follow the Jammu-Kashmir reservation policy without affecting the general quota.
They have also talked about providing Rs 3,000 yearly through DBT as travel allowance to college students under the ‘Pragati Shiksha Yojana’.
The BJP has also promised to enable the youth of Jammu and Kashmir preparing for competitive exams like JKPSC and UPSC.
Releasing BJP 's manifesto, Amit Shah ruled out talks with Pakistan , but said that they will talk with youths of Jammu and Kashmir.
