New Delhi: In a heartbreaking turn of events, a stampede occurred in Hathras district's Phulrai village, Uttar Pradesh, claiming multiple lives and injuring several others. The incident unfolded as a large crowd of devotees, predominantly women, were returning home after attending a 'satsang' conducted by Baba Narayan Hari, also known as Saakar Vishwa Hari Bhole Baba.

Witnesses reported that chaos ensued as the devotees were exiting the venue, leading to a sudden surge in the crowd that resulted in a stampede. The local authorities and emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, initiating rescue operations and transporting the injured to nearby medical facilities.

The tragedy has sent shockwaves through the community, with officials and leaders expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives. German envoy Philipp Ackermann, Chinese envoy Xu Feihong, French Ambassador Thierry Mathou, and Israeli Ambassador Naor Gilon were among those who offered their condolences on social media, extending sympathies to the families of the victims and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.

Efforts are ongoing to provide support to the affected families and ensure medical care for the injured. The state government has announced compensation for the families of those who lost their lives in the stampede, underscoring the gravity of the incident and the need for enhanced safety measures during large gatherings.

The local administration has initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the stampede and prevent such tragedies in the future.
