Mortar shell explodes in J&K's Samba, one killed, another injured

Jammu and Kashmir: A mortar shell explosion in Chandi village of Samba district left one dead and another injured on Friday. The mortar shell was found in the forest area by the duo.

Benam Tosh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, said while talking to ANI that a man was killed and another suffered wounds as a result of a mortar shell incident.

"An unfortunate incident took place in the village of Chandli. A man was killed and another was injured after a mortar shell they found in the forest area exploded. The injured person has been hospitalised, and he is stable now. He has been transferred to GMC Jammu," said Benam Tosh, SSP Samba. 

Further details are awaited in the incident.
