Operation Sindoor: India on late Tuesday night launched precision air strikes in a joint operation by Indian armed forces inside Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), destroying 9 terror launch pads. India's strong response has come to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack when Pakistan-backed terrorists shot dead 27 innocent civilians including 26 Indians and one Nepalese national who were visiting Kashmir for vacation.
Multiple explosions were heard in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir after India launched 9 complete destruction air strikes targeting terror camps in various sites including:
India's National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, along with a handpicked special team from the three services, spearheaded Operation Sindoor — a mission aimed at avenging the fallen, and honouring the widows left behind by acts of terror. The strategy was surgical and selective.
The National Technical Research Organisation played a crucial role in the early stages, helping identify high-value targets. Once confirmed, each target was put under intense surveillance, leading to a refined list focused solely on terror elements.
The final go-ahead came from NSA Doval himself after briefing PM on the mission’s scope and objective.
Only a small, trusted circle was kept in the loop, and a tightly secured control room was established, manned directly by NSA Doval and his core team to oversee every move in real time.
The Ministry of Defence in a statement said that the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed.
Altogether, a total of 9 sites have been targeted. Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution, the Defence Ministry said.
These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were murdered. We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable. There will be detailed briefing on ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’, later today, the Ministry of Defence added.
According to reports, India launched air strikes on Subhanullah mosque in Bahwalpur’s Ahmed East area, Kotli and Muzaffarabad.
Soon after the attack, the Indian Army took to X, formerly Twitter, and wrote, “Justice is served.”
