Mumbai: Woman arrested for driving car rashly on highway

A 34-year-old woman was arrested on Friday for rash driving near Navghar on the Mumbai-Thane Highway, police said.

A 34-year-old woman was arrested on Friday for rash driving near Navghar on the Mumbai-Thane Highway, police said. The incident took place at around 2:30pm, an official said.

"The woman first hit two motorcycles, leading to those riding them falling down and getting injured. She then overtook a bullet motorcycle rashly. The bullet driver's wife is pregnant and the couple tried to stop the offending car at Mulund Naka. The woman picked up a fight with the couple after being stopped," he said.

After the pregnant woman and her husband called the police, the rash driver, who is an engineer, was arrested under relevant sections of the IPC and later released on bail, he informed.
