New Vande Bharat Express Prompts Indian Railways to Revise Train Schedules in Uttar Pradesh

With the launch of the 22490/22489 Meerut City – Lucknow Charbagh – Meerut City Vande Bharat Express, Indian Railways has updated the timings of various trains operating in Uttar Pradesh. These changes came into effect today, September 5, 2024. The latest Vande Bharat Express, the 11th in the state, connects Meerut with Lucknow and has brought some adjustments to other train schedules.

New Meerut to Lucknow Vande Bharat Express

The newly introduced Vande Bharat Express, numbered 22490/22489, made its debut on August 31, 2024, offering a rapid connection between Meerut and Lucknow. The train leaves Meerut City at 6:35 AM and reaches Lucknow at 1:45 PM, with scheduled stops at Moradabad Junction at 8:35 AM and Bareilly Junction at 9:56 AM.

On the return journey, the Vande Bharat Express departs from Lucknow Charbagh Railway Station at 2:45 PM and is expected to arrive at Meerut City by 10:00 PM. It will stop at Bareilly Junction at 6:02 PM and Moradabad Junction at 7:32 PM. This service will operate six days a week, excluding Tuesdays, and will feature an eight-coach configuration.

Updated Timings for Affected Trains

In light of the new Vande Bharat Express, several trains on the same routes have had their timings adjusted.

Prayagraj Sangam – Saharanpur Nauchandi Express (12442)

Effective September 5, 2024:

• Saharanpur: Arrival time changed from 10:40 AM to 11:05 AM.
• Deoband: Changed from 10:09/10:11 AM to 10:34/10:36 AM.
• Muzaffarnagar: Updated from 09:55/09:57 AM to 10:20/10:22 AM.
• Khatauli: Updated from 09:40/09:42 AM to 10:04/10:06 AM.
• Meerut Cantt: Revised between 08:55/08:57 AM and 09:20/09:22 AM.
• Meerut City: Departure time changed from 08:45 AM to 09:10 AM.

Meerut City – Lucknow Rajya Rani Express (12244)

Effective September 5, 2024:

• Meerut City: Departure time changed from 06:40 to 07:05 AM.
• Hapur: Updated from 07:15/07:17 AM to 07:36/07:38 AM.
• Amroha: Updated from 08:00/08:02 AM to 08:27/08:29 AM.
• Moradabad: Revised between 08:36/08:38 AM and 09:03/09:05 AM.
• Rampur: Revised between 09:01/09:03 AM and 09:28/09:30 AM.

Lucknow – Meerut City Rajya Rani Express (12243)

Effective September 5, 2024:

• Lucknow: Departure time shifted from 09:43 PM to 09:30 PM.
• Hapur: Updated from 04:13/04:15 AM to 04:01/04:03 AM.
• Amroha: Updated from 03:34/03:36 AM to 03:24/03:26 AM.
• Moradabad: Updated from 02:50/02:55 AM to 02:39/02:44 AM.
• Rampur: Updated from 02:20/02:22 AM to 02:09/02:11 AM.

Bhagat Ki Kothi – Kamakhya Express (41623)

Effective Tuesday, September 10, 2024:

• Moradabad: Updated from 08:25/08:35 AM to 08:15/08:25 AM.
• Bareilly: Revised between 10:00/10:05 AM and 09:50/09:55 AM.
• Lucknow Charbagh: Updated from 02:00/02:10 PM to 02:20/02:30 PM.
