New Delhi: Days after the Supreme Court of India upheld Centre’s move of abrogating Article 370 of the Constitution which ended the special status bestowed upon Jammu and Kashmir, bifurcating the state into two union territories, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has claimed that no force in the entire universe can reverse the government's decision.

While speaking to a Hindi daily PM Modi said, “Brahmand ki koi bhi takat ab article 370 ki vaapsi nahin kara sakti, lihaza sakaratmat karya main lage,” which translates to ‘No force in the universe can make the return of Article 370 possible now, so get involved in positive work’.

The Prime Minister said that the abrogation was more crucial for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and their progress. Attacking the Opposition PM Modi said, “The removal of Article 370 was essential for the development and well-being of the people. Some dynasts had clung to it for their political selfishness. The common people of Jammu and Kashmir do not want to be part of any self-centered politics. They want to secure the future of their children and ensure their present without discrimination, like every other citizen of the country.”

No more stone-pelting in Kashmir: PM Modi

PM Modi said that every Kashmiri wants to secure the future of children, asserting that the situation of the valley is much better than before. “After the abrogation of Article 370, the face of both Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has changed. Cinemas are now running there. Instead of terrorism, there are tourists,” PM said.

“There is no stone-pelting; rather, film shooting is taking place. The common Kashmiri family is liking this. To those who are still spreading confusion for political gain around Article 370, I would say two things - now no power in the universe can bring back Article 370,” he added.

PM Modi hails SC’s decision

The Supreme Court has stamped its approval on the fact that two constitutions cannot function in any way in one country. The abrogation of Article 370 was more crucial for the people of Jammu and Kashmir than for politics,” said PM Modi on the recent decision of the apex court in which it upheld Centre’s decision.

The Supreme Court’s bench headed by Chief Justice of India Chandrachud held that Article 370 was a temporary provision and asked the Election Commission to hold polls in the valley at the earliest.
