People across the country today celebrated the birth anniversary of the eminent Nobel laureate, a Physicist and Bharat Ratna awardee CV Raman on Twitter

People across the country today celebrated the birth anniversary of the eminent Nobel laureate, a Physicist and Bharat Ratna awardee CV Raman or Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman. CV Raman received the Nobel Prize in Physics for his Raman Effect in 1930. The Nobel Ppprize's official twitter account also tweeted in tribute to CV Raman.
Raman effect
According to the Raman effect, it is the inelastic scattering of the light molecules, also known as the photons which attain a high vibrational state or rotational energy levels. The Raman effect is also termed as Raman Scattering. This effect is used by scientists and chemists to study materials based on the phenomenon of Raman spectroscopy. Several people posted tweets in tribute to the great scientist and his finds.

Incidentally, the Russians don't like Raman much. Landsberg discovered Raman Effect (Feb 21) a week before Raman (Feb 28) but by the time he published it (July), Raman had 16 papers on it.
