NSG Join Hands With SOG in Anti-Terror Operations in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir: National Security Guard (NSG) commandos have joined hands with the Special Operations Group (SOG) to conduct joint anti-terror operations in the Jammu region. NSG commandos are currently undergoing area familiarisation training in Jammu to enhance their operational preparedness.

Officials further added that today afternoon a massive joint operation, for enhancing synergy between both forces, was conducted in heart of Jammu City in a vital installation. "We are conducting this operation in the area which has two vital installations within a 200 mtrs distance in heart of Jammu City which makes it a high security zone. The troops of NSG and SOG carried out drill for over two hours and this will continue in days to come," he added.

Officials further added that as part of these efforts, elite commandos are carrying out specialized drills, including room intervention and area clearance operations, in the heart of Jammu city. "NSG has completed a comprehensive audit of vital installations in Jammu. This marks the first permanent presence of the elite force in Jammu and Kashmir since the onset of terrorism in the region," officials added.

Earlier in November 2024, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) ordered the permanent deployment of a specialized unit of the National Security Guard (NSG) in Jammu, particularly in the wake of escalating attacks in the Jammu region. The unit stationed in Jammu will work in close collaboration with the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) to undertake high-stakes anti-terror missions.
