Haryana: In a shocking incident in Haryana's Hansi, Ravindra Saini, the owner of a bike showroom, was shot dead by a group of four attackers on bikes in broad daylight on Wednesday. The armed assailants barged into the Hero motorcycle dealership and opened fire on Saini, who was associated with the Jannayak Janta Party.
A fourth accomplice waited outside the showroom during the attack. Despite the efforts of the showroom's armed guard to intervene, he was unable to prevent the shooting.
CCTV footage from outside the showroom captured the attackers entering the premises and then fleeing on a bike. The video also showed the fourth man waiting outside before the attackers quickly mounted the bike and escaped. The police have launched an extensive manhunt to nab the assailants.
At around 6 PM, Ravindra Saini was leaving his showroom while talking on the phone when he was attacked. Motorcycle-borne assailants, who had been lying in wait, opened fire on Saini as he exited the showroom. Saini, who had been under police protection since the Jat reservation agitation, had his gunman inside the showroom when he was attacked.
The police are currently using CCTV footage to identify the culprits.
Upon learning of the incident, social workers from Hansi flocked to the hospital. Saini was also a social and political activist. Bajrang Garg, Provincial President of the Haryana State Traders' Federation and National General Secretary of the All India Traders' Federation demanded stringent action against the criminals and noted the significant anger among traders and the general public regarding Saini's murder.
Garg criticized the law and order situation in Haryana, stating that the entire state is under a reign of terror, with no effective law enforcement. He added that traders, industrialists, the general public, and even police personnel are not safe, as criminals are openly demanding extortion and protection money.
A similar incident occurred last month in Hansi, where a couple who had a love marriage was shot dead. Their bodies were found in Lala Hukam Chand Jain Park in Hansi. Two assailants on a motorcycle fired seven rounds, killing the couple on the spot. The criminals fled after the shooting, and the nearby residents gathered at the scene upon hearing the gunshots. The victims were identified as Tejveer from Badala village, Narnaund, and Meena from Sultanpur village, Hansi.
