Jalandhar: Panic gripped Ranjit Avenue in Punjab’s Jalandhar Cantt after four snakes were spotted at a house on Saturday. All hell broke loose as soon as the family members living in the house spotted the reptiles. Snake charmers were called in to rescue them.

After putting in a lot of effort, the snakes were finally captured.

According to the house owner, the skin of a snake was also recovered from inside his bed. Following which, he called the snake charmers today.

The family members had no idea for how long the snakes had been living inside their house.

In Punjab, generally snake species including Russel Viper, Common Krait and Spectacled Cobra are found. The snake recovered from Ranjit Avenue were of Cobra breed.

Ranjit Avenue has many farms in its vicinity and snakes often come out here.

In a separate incident, a woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha brought a snake to a govt school to garner views on social media. The incident raised concerns over the safety of students. The incident came to light after the post went viral on social media.
