Patna: In a heart-wrenching incident, a final year undergraduate student was beaten to death by some unidentified persons on the law college campus of Patna University. The deceased has been identified as Harsh Raj. The 22-year-old was a student of BN College, Patna University.

How, When and Where Did The Incident Take Place?

The incident occurred yesterday at noon when a 22-year-old student was leaving his examination centre. He was attacked by a group of seven to eight miscreants. The assailants, who were all wearing masks, had already set up an ambush at the location. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene and took the student's body into custody. The body has been sent to PMCH for a post-mortem examination.

“Information was received that a student, who had gone to appear for his graduation examination on the law college campus under the jurisdiction of Sultanganj Police Station, was beaten up by some unknown people. He was injured. The police reached the spot and took him to the hospital, where he died during treatment”, said the Patna police in a statement.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered and the investigators are examining the CCTV footage to identify the accused. The police have also launched a manhunt to nab the accused. Security personnel have also been deployed on the campus.

RJD Blames NDA  

Hitting out at the Nitish-led Bihar government, RJD Leaader Mrityunjay Tiwarri said,""This is an extremely unfortunate incident. When in the capital, Patna such an incident is taking place, this means 'gunda raj' is still going on in Bihar. How will students coming to bihar feel safe? The NDA govt is responsible for this. The administration should look into this matter and make sure that the accused is arrested..."
