India and Austria Have the Habit of Celebrating Diversity: PM Modi in Vienna

“This mandate is proof of the fact that India wants stability and continuity. This continuity is that of the policy and programs of the last 10 years. This continuity is that of good governance, this continuity is that of working dedicated for big resolves,” said PM Modi in Vienna. 

“After 60 years, a government received the opportunity to serve for the third consecutive term in India. In the post-COVID era, we saw political instability everywhere across the world. It was not easy for governments in most of the countries to survive. Being re-elected has been a challenge. In such a situation, public of India reposed its faith in me, my party and NDA,” said PM Modi in Vienna. 

"Hearing about the elections in India, leaves people across the world surprised. More than 650 million people voted in the elections that concluded only a few weeks back... Imagine, such a huge electoral process takes place but the poll results are clear within the span of just a few hours. This is the strength of our electoral machinery and our democracy. More than 8000 candidates from hundreds of political parties participated in these elections in India. A contest of this level, such a diverse contest - only after that did the public give its mandate,” said PM Modi in Vienna. 

While speaking in Vienna PM Modi said, “Today India is the 3rd largest startup eco system in the world.”

“The amount of real-time digital transition that happens in the rest of the world today happens only in india. Our payment and process is digital,” said PM Modi. 

While speaking at an event in Vienna PM Modi said, “Our process have become digital. We are working for brightest and biggest future. Wer are working for green efficiency.”

Austria: At a community event in Vienna, PM Narendra Modi says, "Geographically, India and Austria are located on two different ends. But there are a lot of similarities between us - democracy connects our two countries. Liberty, equality, pluralism and respect for the rule of law are our shared values. Our two societies are multicultural and multilingual. Both countries have the habit of celebrating diversity. A major medium to reflect these values is election. Austria will go to elections in a few months whereas, in India, we celebrated the festival of democracy just now...The biggest elections concluded in India."

PM Narendra Modi and Chancellor of Austria, Karl Nehammer, jointly addressed a group of leading Austrian and Indian CEOs from diverse sectors including infrastructure, automobile, energy, engineering and start-ups today.

PM called on the Austrian business stakeholders to look at the fast-unfolding opportunities in India, as the country moves to become the third largest economy in the world over the next few years. He emphasized on the steps taken by Government to improve Ease of Doing Business that was attracting global majors to India.

Key bilateral talks between India and Vienna now underway 
 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday invited Austrian companies to invest in India as he highlighted the potential for bilateral collaborations in infrastructure, energy, emerging technologies and other sectors.

Modi arrived here from Moscow after meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday evening on a two-day visit, the first by an Indian prime minister in over 40 years.

Modi and Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer jointly addressed renowned Austrian and Indian CEOs at a round table business meeting in Hofburg Palace here.

The business meeting being held in Vienna was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer. Around 40 businesses from India and Austria are taking part in the meeting. The meeting is being held in Vienna.

India is an influential and credit-worthy country whose role is more than important when it comes to the Russia-Ukraine peace process, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said on Wednesday.

During a joint press statement with Nehammer in Vienna, Modi reiterated that “this is not the time for war.”

“We won’t be able to find a solution to problems in the Warfield. Wherever it is, killing of innocent people is unacceptable. India and Austria emphasise dialogue and diplomacy and for that, we are together ready to give any support required,” the prime minister said a day after his Moscow visit where the Ukraine conflict was discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

India is the biggest democracy in the world and its role, especially for Austria, is more than important to the peace process and future peace summits, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the European country.

Speaking in Vienna PM Modi said,  "We discussed the biggest challenges humanity is facing right now, including climate change and terrorism. In the climate subject, we are inviting Austria, to join our initiatives like international solar alliance, collision for disaster resilient infrastructure and bio-fuel alliance. We both strongly condemn terrorism. We agree that terrorism can't be justified in any way..."

PM Modi has said that they have discussed issues across the world; solutions cannot be found on the battlefield and that the killing of innocent will not be tolerated.
