Sectors like renewable energy and green hydrogen offer many opportunities for more collaboration. We also talked about strong defence relations, people-to-people linkages and other such subjects,” PM Modi tweeted.

During the meeting, PM Modi congratulated President Prabowo and assured him of India's full support. Both leaders discussed ways to work together for further strengthening the India-Indonesia comprehensive strategic partnership, in existing domains as well as expand it to newer areas.

At the launch of the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty at G20, Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said, “I am sure that if we take responsibility for these issues — hunger and poverty — we will succeed quickly.”

“I attended the first G20 Leaders' Meeting in Washington in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. Sixteen years later, I am saddened to see that the world is even worse off. We have the highest number of armed conflicts since World War II, and the highest number of forced displacements ever recorded.”

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday filed a chargesheet against Monalisa Das, a representative of DB Stock Consultancy, in connection with an online trading scam in Assam, officials said.

In the chargesheet filed before Special Judge for CBI cases Chandmari, Guwahati, the CBI alleged that the company deceived several investors over a deposit scheme in Assam.

"The chargesheet was filed under Section 25 read with Sections 21(1), 21(2), and 21(3) of the Banning of Unregulated Deposit Schemes Act, 2019; Section 409 of the Indian Penal Code; and Section 316(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023," a CBI spokesperson said here.

Amid the prevailing law and order situation in the state in wake of continued tensions, the Manipur government on Monday announced an extension of the temporary suspension of internet and mobile data services in the territorial jurisdiction of Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Thoubal and Churachandpur.

The suspension has been extended for two days with effect from 5:15 pm today except for those lease lines and FTTH connections to government offices.

In an official statement, the Manipur government stated that this was done after “reviewing the prevailing law and order situation and its possible co-relation with the general operation of internet suspension in the last two days, decided to continue the suspension of internet and mobile data services, including VSATS, broadband (IILL & FTTH) and VPN services.”

The suspension will continue till 5:15 pm on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

Themes ranging from community policing to AI in the criminal justice system and from the future of blockchain technology in policing to radicalisation in prisons will be discussed at the 50th All India Police Science Conference in Gandhinagar over the next two days.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the golden jubilee edition of the conference, organised by the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) and hosted by Rashtriya Raksha University, an official said on Monday.

Experts from various fields come under one platform to find solutions to challenges the law enforcement agencies face at the annual conference, Rekha Lohani, Inspector General in the BPR&D, told media persons.

This conference will have eight themes ranging from community policing to AI in the criminal justice system, and from the future of blockchain technology in policing to radicalisation in prisons, Lohani said.

"The themes are selected after consulting various stakeholders, and only after we get suggestions and ideas from a spectrum of organisations, we collaborate to finalise themes that are deliberated," Lohani added.

The application of forensics in new criminal law, policing in smart cities and community policing in tribal and border areas as well as the role of police in disaster risk reduction are among other themes that will be discussed at the event.

Shah will attend the inaugural event as the chief guest with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel as the special guest.

A 30-year-old woman died, and her co-passenger was seriously injured when their car hit a divider in Uttar Pradesh's Noida, police said on Monday. Angela Joseph, a resident of Govindpuri in New Delhi, was driving near Sector 98 on November 16 when her car lost control and collided with a divider, Station House Officer Jitendra Kumar Singh said. Angela and her companion were seriously injured in this accident, Singh said, adding that both were taken to a hospital. The woman succumbed during treatment, while the other injured person is undergoing treatment, he said.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has convened a meeting with ministers and MLAs of the ruling NDA here at 6 pm on Monday to review the "developing law and order situation in the state", officials said. The development comes amid the National People's Party (NPP), which has seven MLAs in the 60-member Manipur Assembly, withdrawing support from the BJP-led government, claiming that the N Biren Singh dispensation has "completely failed to resolve the crisis and restore normalcy" in the northeastern state. The withdrawal of support on Sunday, however, would not have any impact on the BJP government, as the saffron party enjoys a majority with its 32 MLAs. The saffron camp has also the support of five MLAs of the Naga People's Front (NPF) and six JD(U) legislators.

The Centre will send additional 50 CAPF companies comprising over 5,000 personnel to Manipur amid 'challenging' situation in state.

A total of 11 flights were diverted and many were delayed at the Delhi airport on Monday morning as bad weather conditions in the national capital resulted in poor visibility impacting aircraft operations, according to an official. SpiceJet and IndiGo informed passengers through X that flights may be affected due to poor visibility conditions in the national capital, which is also grappling with high pollution levels. Out of the 11 flights, 10 were diverted to Jaipur and 1 to Dehradun, the official said and added that some of the pilots were not trained for CAT III operations due to which flights had to be diverted.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered three cases in connection with the latest instances of violence in the strife-torn Manipur, according to official sources. The cases, which were originally filed by Manipur Police, were registered by the anti-terror agency on November 13 and the investigation into these cases has begun, the sources said on Monday.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday launched a strong attack on the JMM-led coalition in Jharkhand, saying under their patronage pockets of the state were converted into hubs of illegal activities by Rohingyas and Bangladesh infiltrators. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Monday said north India is facing a medical emergency due to hazardous air quality caused by stubble burning. Addressing a press conference here, Atishi said the BJP-led central government has been doing politics over the issue of pollution but has taken no step to check stubble burning in states like Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh -- all ruled by the saffron party.

The Supreme Court on Monday questioned the Delhi government over delay in implementation of stricter anti-pollution measures under GRAP-4, and said it will not allow scaling down of the preventive measures without its prior permission. A bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Augustine George Masih pointed out that there was a delay in implementation of preventive measures under stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) even after the Air Quality Index (AQI) touched alarming levels in the national capital.

A man allegedly killed his 30-year-old wife by slitting her throat with a sword in Uttar Pradesh's Banda district, a police officer said on Monday. The incident took place in Maroli village of Mataundh area on Sunday evening. Deepu Singh (33) attacked Priyanka, when the couple was alone at their house, Station House Officer Sandeep Kumar said. According to Kumar, Deepu was addicted to alcohol and there was some dispute between the couple.

Nine people were injured when a man allegedly hit them with his car outside a wedding venue in Dausa district in Rajasthan, police said on Monday. The incident took place in Ladpura village on Sunday night. The accused was part of the wedding procession and was bursting firecrackers outside the wedding venue when he had an altercation with the bride's brother which escalated, police said.

Police have seized the banned gutka valued at Rs 58.68 lakh from a tempo and arrested its driver in Maharashtra's Thane district, an official said on Monday. Acting on a tip, the police raided a premises at the ration office compound in Bhiwandi area on Saturday afternoon. They found the tempo with gutka of various brands stocked in it, the official from Nizampura police station said.

Tighter pollution control measures, including a ban on truck entry and suspension of construction at public projects, came into force in the morning. The dense toxic smog caused visibility to drop sharply in the morning. According to officials, visibility at Safdarjung airport was 150 metres. Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 484, the worst this season, at 8 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Police have registered a case against an investment firm owner in Maharashtra's Thane district for allegedly cheating two persons of Rs 1.39 crore by luring them to invest money in share market for better returns, an official said on Monday. The victims invested Rs 1.64 crore through his company in two years till June 2024, hoping to get good returns, the official from Mumbra police station said.
